Big Time Burgers in Owasso Near 98 Apartments

best burgers in owasso

The team at 98 Apartments in Owasso is on a mission to find the best burger in Oklahoma. There’s no better place to start this search than right down the road in Tulsa. Now, before you get excited, we have to acknowledge that According to Wikipedia, Danish immigrant Louis Lassen sold the first hamburger sandwich in the U.S. in Connecticut in 1895.

However, there is some evidence that suggest the first hamburger served on a bun was made by Oscar Bilby of Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1891. If you ask us, a hamburger isn’t a hamburger until it’s served on a bun. Of course, Oscar was such a patriot that he apparently created and ate the hamburger at his farm on July 4th, Independence Day. It doesn’t get much more American than that. Oscar’s efforts were finally recognized in 1995 when the Governor of Oklahoma declared that the first “bunned” hamburger was created and consumed at Oscar’s farm in Tulsa. Because of Oscar, Tulsa has become known by some as the “Real Birthplace of the Hamburger.” Although residents of Hamburg Germany probably have something to say about that.

Oscar’s grandkids are still hanging around Tulsa. In fact, they own and operate Weber’s Root beer Restaurant, which has been around since 1891. Legend has it that the original grill used to cook Oscar’s first hamburger still sits inside Weber’s. The only way to find out is to go to Weber’s yourself and see if you can find Oscar’s initials etched into the grill.

Oscar’s hamburger might not have tasted quite like the burgers you’re used to today. It probably took him a few rounds of trial and error before he managed to grill the burger to perfection. As the most resident-friendly apartments for rent in Owasso we love telling people where to find the best grub. The following Tulsa restaurants are known to have the juiciest, freshest, most mouth-watering burgers around.

Harden’s Hamburgers

432 S Sheridan Rd, Tulsa, OK 74112

Harden’s is one of those places that Tulsa residents have been going to for years. People who leave Tulsa and come back make it a point to stop by Harden’s before they leave again. The cheese drips from the burgers, the buns are warm to the touch, and the fries are crisp yet somehow soft at the same time. Oh, and Harden’s is one of the only restaurants on this list where the chicken strips and other entrees are just as good as the burger.
