98 Apartments Owasso Talks Game Day Recipes

Apartments in Owasso are filled with Cowboys fans and Sooners fans alike. Hopefully there aren’t any Longhorns fans but you never know. Anyways, it's football time. The leaves are changing, the vests are coming out and flannel season is in full swing. If you’re anything like the team at 98 Apartments Owasso, you love parking yourself in front of the TV on Saturdays at 11:00 am with a pile of food in front of you. Football season gets our creative culinary juices flowing, so we decided to put together a list of scrumptious game day snacks for your next stay-at-home tailgate party. Happy Cooking, from 98 Owasso Apartments.

Bacon-Wrapped Tater Tot Bombs

What You’ll Need:

2 cups frozen tater tots, at room temperature

1 ounce sharp cheddar cheese, cut into 1/4-inch squares

4 slices bacon, quartered

1/4 cup brown sugar, packed

1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley leaves

All you need to do for this recipe is roll cheese and tater tots up in strips of bacon. Oh, and then sprinkle brown sugar on top. The only concern here is getting carried away with how much fun you’re having.

Slow-Cooker Spinach and Artichoke Dip

What You’ll Need:

2 cans artichoke hearts

1 package frozen spinach

8 ounces sour cream

1 small onion

2 cloves garlic

3/4 cup Parmesan cheese

3/4 cup milk

1/2 cup feta cheese

1/3 cup mayonnaise

1 tablespoon red wine vinegar

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

8 ounces cream cheese

This recipe has a lot more ingredients than the bacon-wrapped tater tots, but it's actually easier to make since you’ll be using a slow cooker. Simply drop all the ingredients in and let that thing cook for 2 hours.

Skinny Taco Dip

What You’ll Need:

1 package of cream cheese

1 1/2 cups salsa

3/4 cup light fat sour cream

1 tablespoon taco seasoning

1 1/2 cups shredded romaine lettuce

2 Roma tomatoes, diced

1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1/4 cup sliced black olives

1/4 cup tortilla strips

The recipe website promises this dip will be ready to serve in less than 10 minutes. All you need to do is stir the first 4 ingredients together, heat them up, then top that with the next 5 ingredients and dig in!

Baked Cream Cheese Wontons

What You’ll Need:

8 ounces medium shrimp

4 ounces cream cheese

2 cloves garlic

2 green onions

1 tablespoon ginger

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1 teaspoon Sriracha

16 wonton wrappers

1 large egg

Wonton wrappers are the kind of things that you see one day in the grocery store and think, “I bet I could do something fun with those.” Then you bring them home and they don’t see the light of day for 3 months before you throw them out. Well, here’s a way to make sure those wonton wraps don’t go to waste. These wraps do take some practice before you get them right though, so forgive yourself if you mess up the first 5 or 6 attempts.

Skinny Queso Dip

What You’ll Need:

2 tablespoons butter

3 cloves garlic

1 jalapeno

1 Roma tomato

2 tablespoons flour

2 cups coconut milk

3 cups shredded cheddar cheese

1 teaspoon chili powder

1/2 teaspoon cumin

1/4 cup Greek yogurt

1 avocado

2 tablespoons cilantro leaves

The words “skinny” and “queso dip” rarely go together, but this recipe manages to pull it off. The skinny part comes from replacing the whole cream with coconut milk. That might sound totally wrong at first but you won’t be able to taste the difference by the time you’re chowing down.
